How is COVID-19 spread?

- COVID-19 is thought to be spread mainly through close-to-human contact by droplets from the respiratory tract of an infected person.

- People who are infected often have symptoms of the disease. Some people who have no symptoms can also spread the virus.

1. Spread from person to person

- The virus is thought to spread primarily from person to person.

- Between people in close contact with each other (for about 6 yards or about 2 meters).

- Through droplets shot from the respiratory tract of an infected person when they cough, sneeze or talk.

- These droplets can get into the mouths or noses of nearby people or can be inhaled.

- Some recent studies suggest that COVID-19 can be spread by people who do not show symptoms.

* Maintaining good social isolation (about 6 feet or 2 meters) is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.

How is COVID-19 spread?

2. The spread is caused by contact with objects or surfaces contaminated with the virus

-A person can become infected with COVID-19 by touching surfaces or objects that have viruses on it and then touching their mouth, nose or possibly their eyes. It is not thought that this is the main way of spreading the virus, but it is still learning more about the virus.

-Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub. At the same time, regularly clean surfaces or touch them.

3. How easily the virus spreads

- The way the virus spreads easily from person to person can vary. Some viruses are highly contagious, like measles, while others are not contagious. Another factor is whether the spread is prolonged or not, meaning that the spread goes from person to person without stopping.
